Linda Lowry – Water Nymphs at Goodwin Fine Art
Reception with the Artist: Friday October 12 from 5 until 8
Show Continues through November 10, 2012
Water and all its many connotations, as a life sustaining force, water as sanctuary, water as a reflective pool both metaphorically and literally, all are explored and served as impetus for this new body of work by the Boulder-based artist.
Lowry’s impulse with this work is to be a messenger of sorts reminding us of the restorative power of water. As the artist states, “Interaction with water is instinctual for children. We all need water to lead us back to the beginning, to slow us down and remind us of something bigger than all our human activity and frenzy.”
Linda Lowry has been exhibiting her paintings both locally and nationally since the early 80’s. Her paintings are included in numerous private and public collections. She received her M.F.A. from the University of Colorado.
