Denver Artist Tim Flynn – “A Table at Le Cirque”
On October 15, Denver artist Tim Flynn will be attending the launch of the long-anticipated book: A Table at Le Cirque: Stories and Recipes from New York’s Most Legendary Restaurant.
The reason for the exclusive invitation?
Forty-six wire circus drawings that grace the walls of each booth and are seen on the restaurants website and a sculpture of a trapeze artist in full flight that greets patrons in the foyer. The works were installed in 2006 when the famed restaurant moved from its prior location at the Palace Hotel to its current location in the Bloomberg Tower building at One Beacon Court (151 East 58th Street). Fifteen of them are featured in the book, one on each chapter page.
Tim Flynn was born in Chicago and grew up in Waukegan, Illinois. He has a B.A. from Western Illinois University. Flynn lives in Denver and exhibits his works nationally and internationally. While most well-known for his wire-sculptures, he works in a variety of media including small and monumental sculpture, lighting and printmaking.
