Cooking on Elm Street: A Cooking Show Featuring Creative Coloradoans
Friends gathered in a kitchen drinking wine and preparing a meal they will share. Free flowing conversation about art, life and things that matter. A combination cooking show and talk show. That’s the premise behind Cooking on Elm Street an online show broadcasting at ArchedBrow Productions.
“I’m really excited. It’s a cooking talk show,” producer, host, director and editor Guinivere Stevenson says. “It’s two formats blended together and by taking the crew away it’s live. It’s very relaxed. It allows for this fun, organic conversation to unfold.”
In the first episode, which launched Monday, May 14 at 6 p.m., Stevenson invites filmmaker Cameron Terry of Halffro Production into her home kitchen to prepare paella and drink Tempranillo. They discuss his short film on the Holy Terror farm in the North Fork Valley and how it became a full-length documentary about a small, organic, locovore farm fighting the gas industry over hydraulic fracturing plans for the land where the farm draws their water.
Stevenson captures the cooking and conversation using four GOPRO cameras mounted around the space. The dialogue is relaxed and it’s as if the viewer has been invited into Guinivere’s kitchen. All we need is smell-o-vision to get the full effect. It’s fun, it’s quirky, it’s smart, and it’s a entertaining. What it isn’t is serious.
“The only thing that is serious is what we are talking about,” Stevenson says. “It’s casual, fun and laid back. We are enjoying each other and the time together.”
Cooking on Elm Street broadcasts every other week and each show goes live at 6 p.m. on Monday night. On Monday, May 21, Amber Moffett of the Rocky Mountain Kids Theatre joins Guinivere in the kitchen. The full schedule for the first seven shows of the season is listed below.
